Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is looking for an outgoing, energetic people-person who would like to use their skills to identify and engage individuals, businesses, opinion leaders, WLCV board members, and others in the organization’s program activities and fundraising. The Community Outreach and Development Manager will be primarily focused on Southeast Wisconsin.

Who We Are
Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to electing conservation leaders, holding decision makers accountable, and encouraging lawmakers to champion conservation policies that effectively protect Wisconsin’s natural resources and public health.


What You'll Do
The Community Outreach Manager will work closely with the Development Director, Executive Director, and program staff to increase Wisconsin League of Conservation Voter’s donor base and deepen the engagement of supporters in Southeast Wisconsin by:

  • Identifying prospective supporters and donors;
  • Making connections with businesses, community foundations, community leaders, and others with shared interests;
  • Cultivating and deepening relationships with current and prospective supporters;
  • Identifying opportunities for supporters to take action and increase their involvement;
  • Facilitating and assisting Board members, Executive Director, and Development Director in fundraising work;
  • Meeting with donors and asking for financial support;
  • Planning Wisconsin League of Conservation Voter’s annual Green Tie Gala and other fundraising events.

  • See connections and opportunities for collaboration with diverse partners, from businesses to grassroots organizations to vendors. You are comfortable working with people of all political stripes and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Are innovative and entrepreneurial, always seeking out new ways to expand the organization’s base of support and engage supporters in WLCV’s programs. You value learning, are curious, and like to seek out new ideas and opportunities for personal growth and improvement.

What You Should Know

  • Work experience: 2-4 years of experience in fundraising preferred. Experience with community organizing preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated experience and success with citizen engagement and fundraising; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; understanding of or ability to learn quickly about environmental issues, politics, and their potential to engage the public; passion for Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters’ mission and work.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with databases and Excel.
  • Conditions: Position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is fulltime, salaried with a strong benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidates must have the ability to work hours exceeding regular office hours to get the job done and ability and willingness to travel within the state.
