Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today its endorsement of Brian Fitzpatrick for re-election to the U.S. House from Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.

“We are proud to endorse Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick for re-election in recognition of his strong record addressing climate change, fighting PFAS pollution, advocating for public lands and so much more,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Pennsylvania families can count on him to prioritize their health, and we look forward to continuing working with him to protect our environment.”

“As an Eagle Scout and conservationist, who grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I have always been captivated by the natural beauty of our open spaces and wild places. We have it all here; preserved farm land, amazing parks, expansive forests, and historic rivers. With these features comes a special responsibility to care for and protect our natural resources at the local, state, and federal level,” said Representative Brian Fitzpatrick. “I believe our natural environment is worth protecting. Climate change and the irresponsible management of our resources put a strain on the health of our communities – and our children. Clean air and clean water are essential to the health, safety, and development of the next generation of Americans. That is why I have been fighting hard for these priorities during my time in Congress. Whether fighting for my constituents’ right to clean drinking water as the Co-Chair of the bipartisan PFAS Taskforce or speaking out on the necessity to fully fund LWCF permanently, I have been a staunch defender of our environment.”

A Levittown native, Representative Brian Fitzpatrick is a former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and FBI supervisory special agent. In 2016, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he has been a strong voice for environmental protections and climate action. In 2019, he earned a strong 86 percent score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard. Representative Fitzpatrick has helped lead on important pro-environment legislation to address PFAS pollution and ocean acidification, authorize full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and has voted in favor of H.R. 9 to fulfill our commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement, banning offshore drilling, addressing climate change, and more.
