Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Clarke Tucker for Congress in Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District.

“LCV Action Fund is excited to endorse Clarke Tucker because he is committed to a clean energy future for Arkansas,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He has been a strong voice in the Arkansas House of Representatives, and we know that in Congress he will be an important partner in the fight to ensure clean air and water for every family in the Natural State and across the country.”

“We all have an obligation to care for this planet,” said Clarke Tucker. “As residents of the Natural State, we have a heightened responsibility to be good stewards of our water, air, and public lands. That is why I am proud to have the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, and I share their mission to elevate policy that acknowledges and fights climate change and invests in a clean energy economy. I look forward to working with LCV to advance clean energy policy that protects our environment, promotes public health, and boosts our economy.”

Clarke Tucker is a seventh generation Arkansan who grew up in Little Rock. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from the University of Arkansas Law School and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. After law school, Tucker served for two years as a clerk for a federal judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. He then entered private legal practice at a Little Rock law firm, specializing in commercial litigation, and served as an adjunct professor at the William H. Bowen School of Law. In Congress he will prioritize bringing renewable energy jobs to Arkansas and protecting the state’s natural beauty and resources.
