Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Cort VanOstran for Congress in Missouri’s 2nd District.

“LCV Action Fund is proud to endorse Cort VanOstran for Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We can count on him to fight for healthy communities and a brighter economic future. In Congress he will stand up to corporate polluters and invest in Missouri’s clean energy future. He is the best choice to ensure the Show Me State’s natural beauty and way of life will be protected for generations to come.”

“I’m honored to have earned the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Cort VanOstran. “Missouri’s natural resources need an advocate in Congress to keep our state beautiful and our families safe. I’m proud to stand with this impactful organization in the fight to protect our environment.”

Cort VanOstran was born and raised in small town Missouri. He graduated from Harvard University and received a law degree from Washington University School of Law. VanOstran was a student law clerk with the Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice, and after law school, he served as a law clerk for two St. Louis-based U.S. District Court judges. As an attorney, he advocates on behalf of farmers and other hardworking Missourians. As a visiting lecturer at Washington University School of Law, VanOstran teaches first-year law students. He also coordinates a community partnership between Washington University and several metro-area public schools. VanOstran is dedicated to taking action to address climate change, growing our clean energy economy, and protecting our air, water and soil.
