Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Dan Feehan for Congress in Minnesota’s 1st District.

“LCV Action Fund is thrilled to endorse Dan Feehan to represent Minnesota’s First Congressional District. As a veteran and national security expert, Dan Feehan has a deep understanding of the serious threat climate change poses to our country,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are confident that he will make acting to solve the climate crisis a top priority in Congress and champion the growth of Minnesota’s clean energy economy.”

That’s unacceptable,” said Dan Feehan. “I’m honored to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and I look forward to partnering with LCV’s grassroots members to support this District’s strong solar and wind industries, improve the resilience of our agricultural economy and tackle the threat of climate change in Congress.”

Dan Feehan is a fifth generation Minnesotan who grew up in Red Wing. After the September 11 terrorist attacks, Feehan signed up for the Army ROTC and from 2005 to 2009 was an active duty soldier who completed two tours of duty in Iraq. Feehan earned a Bronze Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with Valor and the Ranger Tab. After graduate school, he became a White House Fellow to the Secretary of Defense and worked his way up to become the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Readiness). After finishing his service with the Obama administration, he and his family moved back to Minnesota, where he writes and conducts research on the military. In Congress, Feehan will prioritize addressing climate change as a national security threat and champion a clean energy jobs program for Minnesota.
