Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of nine Environmental Majority Makers in key U.S. House districts. Representatives TJ Cox (CA-21), Madeleine Dean (PA-04), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Josh Harder (CA-10), Susie Lee (NV-03), Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Dean Phillips (MN-03), Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) comprise the third round of endorsements for the Environmental Majority Makers program, an effort by LCV Action Fund to defend the pro-environment House majority in the 2020 election cycle.

“The difference between this Congress and the last Congress for our climate and our future is night and day thanks in large part to the freshmen members of the U.S. House of Representatives,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Their work has been critical in restoring the House’s focus on protecting clean air and clean water, growing the clean energy economy, and fighting the climate crisis.”

Last year, voters across the country elected new representatives to hold the Trump administration accountable for dangerous environmental rollbacks and a failure to take any action on the climate crisis. During the first year of the new Congress, the House majority has taken bold action on these issues. They have held over 100 congressional hearings on the climate crisis; passed the first pro-climate action legislation through the House; passed the largest public lands bill in a decade; and introduced legislation to protect our coasts from offshore drilling, protect the Arctic Refuge and national monuments, address PFAS contamination, and more. In 2020, LCV Action Fund is committed to helping re-elect these new members of Congress who have done so much to stand up for the environment and public health. LCV Action Fund will also spend the next year working to elect a pro-environment Senate and a climate champion to the White House and will be endorsing additional candidates in the months to come.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 90 U.S. Senators and 450 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
