Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Senator Elizabeth Warren for re-election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts.

“Senator Elizabeth Warren has been a fighter from day one,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “As the Trump administration continues to put corporate polluter profits over the health and safety of our families, Senator Warren has refused to back down. She has been an essential advocate for the creation of clean energy jobs, conservation of public lands, and protecting public health programs. This Earth Day, we are so excited to once again endorse Senator Warren.”

“The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund is proud of Elizabeth Warren’s record of leadership.  We value her determined commitment to protect our natural resources and human health, particularly in the face of this Administration’s constant assaults.  She is a true champion,” said Elizabeth Henry, President of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Senator Warren. “At a time when climate change represents a real and growing crisis, LCV works tirelessly, door-to-door and neighbor-to-neighbor, advancing meaningful policies that will safeguard our environment. We have a shared responsibility to continue building new, clean energy infrastructure that supports jobs and our economy, and protects our public health. Together with families across Massachusetts, I will continue to stand with them in this fight.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren is running for her second term representing Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate. She has dedicated her career to fighting for middle class families and protecting consumers. In the Senate, she has been steadfast in her support of climate action and moving to a clean energy economy, including introducing bipartisan legislation calling for the Department of Energy to study and report on the savings of operational energy efficiency programs. Warren is a member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and has earned an outstanding 99% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
