Washington, D.C. – In response to Mike Bloomberg’s announcement that he will invest at least $80 million in 2018 elections, LCV President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:

“This is a really big deal and great news for anyone who cares about action on climate change. For years polluters have dominated election spending with disastrous impacts on the laws that are supposed to protect our health and safety. Mike Bloomberg has long displayed leadership on climate at the local, national and international level, so this kind of commitment from him will help build the pro-environment majority we need to retake our country’s place leading the world promoting clean energy and fighting climate change.”
