Washington, D.C. — League of Conservation Voters Vice President for Government Affairs Sara Chieffo released the following statement on reports that the Trump administration is withdrawing Kathleen Hartnett White’s nomination to lead the Council on Environmental Quality: 

“Kathleen Hartnett White is a conspiracy theorist and anti-science extremist who would threaten public health as the White House’s top environmental advisor. Thanks to people across the country and our champs in the Senate speaking out against her fringe views and dangerous record, we’ve defeated her nomination. This is a victory for science, and Trump would do well to listen to our voices and nominate someone who will put communities, not polluters, first.”
