Washington, D.C. – In response to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s powerful call for any infrastructure bill to address the climate crisis by investing in clean energy and helping communities adapt to climate change, the League of Conservation Voters released the following statement from President Gene Karpinski:

“Senator Schumer is right: a strong infrastructure package is an opportunity to make a significant down payment on transitioning to a clean energy economy that generates millions of family-sustaining jobs, while helping communities prepare for the devastating climate impacts many are already experiencing. Voters across the country just sent a loud and clear message that they want our elected officials to act on climate, and we urge Congress and the Trump administration to do just that. Thanks Senator Schumer for making a clarion call to seize this opportunity to help build our clean energy future.”
