Washington, DC: In response to Senator Blunt’s introduction of a bill to weaken popular clean car standards, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from VP of Government Affairs, Sara Chieffo:

“With this legislation, Big Oil and auto industry lobbyists are trying to weaken common-sense health and consumer safeguards. The clean car standards are popular. They’re successful. And they are doing exactly what they were designed to do: protect our health, reduce pollution, save consumers money, and create jobs. LCV opposes this legislation and will work to prevent any rollback to these vitally important clean cars standards.”
