Washington, D.C.- In response to the release of Governor Jay Inslee’s 100% Clean Energy For America Plan, the League of Conservation Voters released the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“Governor Inslee set a high bar when he launched his presidential campaign with a central focus on climate action and he is continuing to demonstrate important leadership with this strong proposal. This plan to move our country to 100% clean energy is the kind of bold vision we need to tackle the climate crisis. We applaud Governor Inslee for releasing this ambitious proposal that builds on the clean energy progress that is already being made in states across the country and commits to a 100% clean electricity standard by 2030, zero-carbon pollution from new buildings and zero-emissions standards for new vehicles and buses.”

“Investment in our clean energy future is a win for our climate, a win for our economy, and win for the health of our communities. Any candidate who is serious about becoming our next president must put forward a plan for clean energy and climate action that is commensurate with the scale of the challenge that we face.”
