Washington, D.C. — Ahead of the release of the Fourth National Climate Assessment, the League of Conservation Voters released the following statement from Vice President Sara Chieffo:

“Just two days ago Trump asked ‘whatever happened to global warming?’ — but his own government’s experts are warning us about the all too real threats of climate change. Trump can continue to deny science and attempt to bury the National Climate Assessment by releasing it on a holiday weekend, but there is no hiding the fact that communities across the country are facing the devastating impacts of climate change firsthand.

“Meanwhile, we’re thankful that cities and states are continuing to march toward 100 percent clean energy despite the Trump administration’s efforts to roll back climate progress at the federal level. The urgency of fighting the climate crisis could not be more real, and this year’s elections show that there’s real momentum for action. President Trump, we’re not slowing down.”
