Richmond, Virginia — LCV Victory Fund today announced a $300,000 TV ad in Virginia’s 2nd congressional district. The ad, which will run in the Norfolk market through Election Day, calls attention to ongoing investigations into fraud by Rep. Scott Taylor’s campaign, as well as his record of voting to help polluters and other special interests.

WATCH: “Revealed”

“A judge in Richmond looking into Scott Taylor’s campaign found ‘out and out fraud,’” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “That alone should be disqualifying, but voters also need to know about Taylor’s record of voting to help polluters and other special interests at the cost of the health and safety of his own constituents.”

Taylor has earned an atrocious 6 percent lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters, meaning he has voted against protections for Virginia’s environment and public health nearly every single chance he’s had. Taylor has also taken over three-quarters of a million dollars in contributions from business PACS.

A script of the ad is below, and research back-up is available here.

“Revealed”

Congressman Taylor’s campaign — under investigation for out-and-out-fraud.

Now, this shocking revelation. Taylor took over $750,000 from special interests, and sided with big corporations — allowing them to spew more toxic pollution into our air.

And Taylor sided with insurance companies, too — voting to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions, like asthma and cancer.

Congressman Taylor’s not for us.
