Mark DeSaulnier is a proven environmental advocate. DeSaulnier has served in the California State Senate since 2008 where he chaired the Transportation and Housing Committee and earned a lifetime score of 97% from the California League of Conservation Voters.  DeSaulnier has held a number of other elected offices, including Mayor of Concord, Contra Costa County Supervisor, and as a Representative in the State Assembly. As a County Supervisor, he was a member of the California Air Resources Board and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

In Congress, DeSaulnier will be committed to expanding the use of renewable energy and creating good paying jobs that will support a strong middle class. 

DeSaulnier fills the seat held by retiring Representative George Miller, who received a lifetime score of 88% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard through 2013.
