Ruben Gallego is a Marine Corps veteran of the Iraq War and has worked to protect Arizona’s environment while serving in the Arizona House of Representatives. During his four years in state office, Gallego rose to the position of Assistant Minority Leader.
Gallego views climate change as the most pressing issue of our time and will make putting a price on carbon pollution one of his top priorities, along with expanding the development of clean energy and preserving public lands.
Gallego fills the seat held by retiring Representative Ed Pastor, who has a lifetime score of 83% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard through 2013.
In his own words:
“The people of Arizona have always been able to count on me to look out for their interests and protect our planet, and they know I will continue this leadership and champion environmental issues in Congress."
