Former Vice President—and conservation champion—Al Gore has penned a lengthy essay for Rolling Stone detailing the battle over climate change.

In his piece, Gore outlines how climate deniers are influencing our government to establish barriers to action:

Polluters and Ideologues are…financing pseudoscientists whose job is to manufacture doubt about what is true and what is false; buying elected officials wholesale with bribes that the politicians themselves have made ‘legal’ and can now be made in secret; spending hundreds of millions of dollars each year on misleading advertisements in the mass media; hiring four anti-climate lobbyists for every member of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Gore’s 7,000-word essay goes in to great detail about climate coverage in the media, smear campaigns from climate deniers, President Obama’s record on the issue and what we should do going forward. The article is definitely a must-read.
