Beth Buczynski of Yahoo news reports that the average consumption of humans over a lifetime can really add up. The average American lifetime sees the consumption of 562,000 kwh, which equates roughly to 228 tons of coal; nearly 35,000 gallons of gas over a lifetime, which would require roughly 242 trees to offset; and leaves a carbon footprint 1,500 tons, an amount large enough to fill half of the New York Giants football stadium.
