Don’t fall for Cory Gardner’s latest spin. He just released a new television ad claiming to be a bipartisan leader on clean energy. But he’s not telling Colorado voters the full story. Here are five of the biggest facts on energy that Cory Gardner isn’t talking about on the campaign trail:
- He isn’t talking about his votes for subsidies for Big Oil.
- He isn’t talking about his record of opposing EPA’s efforts to move us toward a clean energy economy.
Cory Gardner can’t have it both ways. He may be running ads claiming to be “a new kind of Republican” who promotes clean energy, but behind the scenes he is courting “third party” money from the out-of-state oil billionaire Koch brothers and other dirty energy interests. His campaign is already receiving major support from the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity, which is leading a campaign to permanently kill tax incentives for wind energy.
