Gingrich Again Pushes Abolition of EPA

In an email earlier today, likely GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich previewed his upcoming speech to CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference.

One of the "four main themes" of Gingrich's speech will be a call to abolish the EPA and replace it with a weaker "Environmental Solutions Agency" which would, according to Gingrich, represent a departure from the "regulatory model of the current EPA."

It's important to note that Gingrich's plan to abolish the EPA is hugely unpopular--polling shows that 67% of Americans oppose abolishing the EPA and that 63% actually want the EPA to "do more to hold polluters accountable and protect the air and water."
