If we want to see action on climate, we need to call out members of Congress denying the science and standing in the way of progress. There are too many members of Congress trying to sweep their extreme anti-science positions under the rug, and their constituents deserve to know where they stand. That’s why LCV launched a nearly $2 million nationwide television ad campaign to hold four climate change deniers accountable for siding against their own constituents and 97% of scientists.
One of the ads targets Congressman Mike Coffman (CO-6):
The second ad targets Congressman Rodney Davis (IL-13):
The third ad targets Congressman Dan Benishek (MI-1):
The fourth ad targets Senator Ron Johnson (WI):
The scientific views on climate change are as solid as any public policy question will ever get. According to NASA, 97 percent of scientists agree that human activity is contributing to climate change, and that extreme weather is increasing due to climate change. Today hundreds of LCV members in 15 cities are participating in district rallies to call out climate change deniers, while more than 15,000 LCV members in other cities have emailed their members of Congress to tell them that it’s time to act on climate change.
