House Energy and Commerce Committee Votes Down 3 Amendments That Would Accept the Occurrence of Climate Change

Today, during mark-up of anti-EPA legislation introduced by Rep. Fred Upton, the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted against three proposed amendments that would accept the scientific consensus confirming the occurrence of climate change.

The three amendments were introduced separately by Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA), and ranking committee member Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA).Each amendment called on Congress to accept the EPA finding that climate change is occurring.

Rep. Upton's bill repeals the finding of EPA scientists that climate change threatens human health and welfare.
