Midwest States Face Anti-Renewable Energy Legislation

According to Reuters, lawmakers in Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, and Montana are pushing legislative initiatives that will repeal or weaken renewable energy standards in their respective states.

The proposed legislation in each of the four state legislatures counters a trend of policy actions taken by twenty-seven states and the District of Columbia to increase renewable portfolio standards, which require utility providers to obtain a minimum percentage of their power from renewable energy resources.
