New Jersey Legislature Rebukes Gov. Christie on RGGI

Earlier today, the New Jersey Assembly voted 44 to 34 to keep New Jersey in the groundbreaking Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

The New Jersey Senate passed a similar bill on Monday. The legislation now goes to Governor Christie’s desk where he is expected to veto it.

These developments are a strong rebuke of Gov. Christie, who announced his intent to end New Jersey’s involvement in the climate program late last month.

The Koch brothers’ Americans for Prosperity spent nearly $250,000 lobbying Gov. Christie to pull his state out of RGGI.
