House Oversight Committee Chair Darrel Issa (R-CA) marked the one-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill???which killed 11 people and led to the worst environmental disaster in American history???by posting this to his Twitter feed:
Tomorrow is the 1 year #oilspill anniversary. Gulf coast is still reeling???from Obama Admin's #jobs crushing energy policies.
Rep. Issa is now being roundly???and rightly??? criticized for politicizing such a major tragedy.
It's also important to note that, in his role as chairman, Rep. Issa has not held a single hearing to investigate the oil spill, despite the fact that (as Brad Johnson at Think Progress reports) Issa admitted in March that the oil spill commission found "a degree of negligence by BP, its partners, and regulators that can only be called shameful."
