Today, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) introduced the Upton/Inhofe bill ??? which prevents scientists at the EPA from implementing commonsense safeguards against carbon pollution ??? as an amendment to a small business bill being considered by the Senate.
After speaking with Senator McConnell, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that he would allow a vote on the amendment today.
Speaking about the bill, Reid stated:
"The Senate [small business] bill creates jobs, and I don't know why they would want to divert attention from that," Reid told reporters in the Capitol. "We will debate it, we will have a vote on it in due time. It is something that I don't favor, I think his amendment is very, very misguided."
