Today, the Solar Energy Industries Association and GTM Research unveiled U.S. Solar Market Insight: 2010 Year in Review, a report that documents solar power development in 2010.
According to the report (PDF), the solar industry's total market value grew 67% from $3.6 billion in 2009 to $6 billion in 2010.
This growth in solar power resulted from a combination of strong state level policies, like renewable electricity standards, as well as federal investments such as the Obama administration's extension of the renewable energy grant program.
The report represents a tremendous leap forward for the clean energy industry, and proves that with continued support from state and local government, as well as the energy industry, America can successfully transition towards a clean energy future.
