U.S. Ranks 3rd in Clean Energy Investment

29 Mar 2011  |   Daniel Jacobs

According to a study released today by the Pew Environmental Group, the United States ranks third among the world's twenty wealthiest nations in clean energy investment.

Though the United States increased its investment in 2010 to $34 billion from $22.5 billion in 2009, the country still trails behind the world's leaders in renewable energy funding.

China leads the world in clean energy investment with $53.4 billion in 2010, with Germany trailing at $41.2 billion.

The study underscores the critical need to improve our nation's investment in renewable energy.Only with strong fiscal support, including federal grants and private investment, can the United States compete in the increasingly competitive and innovative world economy.
