WH Threatens CR Veto

16 Feb 2011  |   Damien Shirley

The Hill reports that the White House has threatened to veto the House GOP's proposed continuing resolution, which is a proposed measure that would fund the federal government for the remainder of the 2011 fiscal year.

In a statement released earlier today, the White House said that "[i]f the president is presented with a bill that undermines critical priorities or national security through funding levels or restrictions, contains earmarks or curtails the drivers of long-term economic growth and job creation while continuing to burden future generations with deficits, the president will veto the bill."

We reported last week that the proposed continuing resolution contains significant cuts to the EPA and other federal environmental programs.
