A new report finds the U.S. wind industry making impressive gains in domestic energy production due to strong and steady expansions in wind power capacity installations across the country, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
The report’s findings show that U.S. wind power capacity increased by 40 percent since 2011, now providing enough energy to power 13 million American homes and businesses. The looming expiration of the Production Tax Credit (PTC), however, threatens to destroy over 37,000 domestic manufacturing jobs and upend America’s recent progress towards a clean energy future.
