New milestone shows Markey momentum ahead of primary

WASHINGTON, DC –The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund announced today that it has already raised or contributed more than $200,000 for Ed Markey through its GiveGreen program since endorsing him in the Massachusetts Senate race in January. This is the quickest LCV Action Fund has ever raised $200,000 for a candidate, and more than doubles the $100,000 milestone announced last month.

“We’re raising money for Ed Markey faster than we have for any candidate in LCV Action Fund’s history. It’s a sign of the immense support for Ed Markey, and shows his momentum in this race ahead of the primary later this month,” said Jeff Gohringer, National Press Secretary for the League of Conservation Voters.

LCV Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who promote sound environmental policies, endorsed Markey for U.S. Senate in January, highlighting how he built his career around protecting the environment and wrote landmark legislation combating climate change and protecting public health.

The GiveGreen total raised includes all contributions bundled or donated by LCV Action Fund. A full fundraising breakdown by candidate can be accessed online at, which is the only website devoted exclusively to raising money for environmental champions and candidates.
