WASHINGTON – Today, League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Senior Vice President for Campaigns Navin Nayak announced the hiring of Scott Fairchild to the position of National Campaigns Director. Mr. Fairchild will develop and oversee LCV’s issue and electoral campaigns.
“We are thrilled to have Scott join our team as National Campaigns Director. The depth and breadth of Scott’s political experience will be a tremendous asset as we build up our political and advocacy campaign programs heading into 2012,” said Nayak. “With ongoing congressional attacks on the environment and key races already beginning to take shape, Scott’s hiring is a sign of the type of aggressive campaigns LCV plans to run this cycle to hold lawmakers accountable for their anti-environmental votes and elect candidates who will champion sound clean energy policies.”
Prior to joining LCV, Mr. Fairchild led a number of successful federal, mayoral and state electoral campaigns. Most recently, Mr. Fairchild served as Campaign Manager on Rahm Emanuel’s successful bid for Chicago Mayor. He also successfully elected and re-elected Congressman Patrick Murphy as well as served as his Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill. Mr. Fairchild also advised Illinois Rep. Bill Foster’s winning 2008 special election campaign to claim former House Speaker Dennis Hastert’s seat.
