WASHINGTON, DC – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski released this statement on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee’s consideration today of Senators Shaheen (D-NH) and Portman’s (R-OH) bipartisan Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act:

“This is a commonsense bill that members of both parties should get behind. Making small changes to become more energy efficient can make a big difference, cutting costs for consumers and helping combat the climate crisis. Republicans and Democrats on the Committee should move this bill forward with a strong bipartisan vote and without any harmful amendments.”
