WASHINGTON – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement after a bipartisan majority in the U.S. Senate rejected Senator Inhofe’s attempt to curtail clean air standards:
“Today’s bipartisan rejection of Senator Inhofe’s assault on vital clean air protections is a huge win for protecting public health and holding polluters accountable. Unfortunately, Mitt Romney has once again cast his lot with the corporate polluters backing his campaign and the anti-environmental lawmakers who would rather protect polluter profits than safeguard public health.”
