Washington, D.C. – Tonight, the Democratic presidential candidates met for a debate in Miami. In response, LCV National Campaigns Director Clay Schroers issued the following statement:

“Tonight, the debate moderators did the right thing by asking the candidates about how they will approach one of the most pressing issues facing our country, climate change. Both Democratic candidates deserve credit for calling for urgent action on climate. We are thrilled once again to hear Hillary again lay out her commitment to build on Obama’s historic Clean Power Plan, the biggest step we have ever taken to reduce carbon pollution, and her proposal for an ambitious clean energy plan. Hillary’s plan on how to meet the challenge of climate change head-on is in stark opposition to the climate denialism among the GOP candidates.”
