LCV on Failed Attempt to Rewrite the Clean Air Act

WASHINGTON, DC – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski released this statement following a failed attempt in the United States Senate to rewrite the Clean Air Act and endanger public health by undermining mercury air pollution limits: 

 “This vote is a win for public health and a blow to the polluter agenda. The EPA is doing its job protecting public health by working to curb harmful mercury pollution in our air and water. This was a blatant attempt to undermine the Clean Air Act, and Americans will be healthier because the Senate did what's right and stood up to corporate polluters and their Congressional allies.”
