The League of Conservation Voters, as part of their coalition effort, reminded fairgoers at the Montana State Fair in Great Falls on Sunday of Congressman Dennis Rehberg anti-hunter record. The plane circled the fair all afternoon with a banner that read, “Rehberg is bad news for hunters!”
Rehberg cosponsored H.R. 1505, controversial legislation that gives Homeland Security access to all federal lands under the jurisdiction of the Agriculture and Interior Secretaries that are within 100 miles of the U.S. border, and allows for, among other things, “installation, maintenance, and operation of surveillance equipment and sensors,” according to the text of the legislation.
The Montana Hunters and Anglers Leadership Fund, as part of the coalition effort to defeat Rehberg's bid to represent Montana in the United States Senate, has launched two television ads in the Billings, Missoula, and Great Falls markets targeting his record on issues related to Montana's outdoor heritage.
