WASHINGTON, DC - The League of Conservation Voters, which works to turn environmental values into national priorities, released an animated web video today -- entitled “Obama’s Not a Superhero” -- to bolster public support for President-elect Obama’s clean energy agenda.

“We are all eager for new leadership in 2009 and encouraged by President-elect Obama’s ambitious agenda to build a clean energy economy and tackle global warming,” said LCV president Gene Karpinski. “But we also know that our success in taking on entrenched special interests such as Big Oil and Dirty Coal will require unprecedented public mobilization,” he said.

The humorous 90 second video depicts an animated Obama in a superhero outfit battling the special interests while underscoring the importance of building public support for policies that will Repower, Refuel and Rebuild America. The video encourages viewers to sign a petition to the President-elect supporting bold energy goals.
