Washington, DC – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), the independent political voice for the environment, today announced its endorsement of Patty Wetterling in the race for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District.

“LCV is proud to endorse Patty Wetterling, a candidate who, like many Minnesotans, believes in the importance of finding practical solutions to our energy challenges, ” LCV President Gene Karpinski said.  “Patty Wetterling understands that by investing in clean energy technologies, we are investing in our future public health and economy.   We know Patty Wetterling will be a true leader in Congress for the people of Minnesota’s 6th District.”

In addition to her strong support for investing in renewable energy, Ms. Wetterling is also a proponent of investing in public transportation projects.  In Congress, she will support public transportation measures and will work to extend Minnesota’s Northstar Commuter Rail line from Minneapolis to St. Cloud.

Ms. Wetterling is committed to strengthening environmental safeguards that help keep America’s air and water clean.  She also recognizes that global warming is a serious threat – and is committed to taking immediate action.  In Congress, Ms. Wetterling will support measures to reduce global warming emissions.

“I am honored to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters,” Ms. Wetterling said.  “I am dedicated to passing a better world on

to our children, and in Congress I will fight for policies that protect and conserve our environment.”
