Washington, DC – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), the independent political voice for the environment, today announced its endorsement of Representative Jim Ramstad in the race for Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District House seat.
“During his tenure in Congress, Rep. Ramstad has supported common sense solutions to America’s energy challenges, such as requiring that new cars go further on a gallon of gas. He understands that it is imperative that America transitions to a new energy economy based on clean renewable energy technologies. Rep. Ramstad has been a credit to Minnesota’s 3rd District and LCV is proud to endorse Rep. Ramstad for re-election,” LCV President Gene Karpinski said.
In addition to his support for increasing fuel economy standards for vehicles, Rep. Ramstad voted to hold makers of the noxious gasoline additive MTBE responsible for the damage their products have caused in communities across the country. He also worked to protect one of America’s last truly wild places, the beautiful Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, from the threat of oil drilling.
"Preserving the environment is a top priority of mine because it's the single most important legacy we will leave future generations," Rep. Ramstad said. "I am pleased to work closely with the League of Conservation Voters to preserve and protect our precious environment, and I deeply appreciate their endorsement for my re-election to Congress."
