WASHINGTON, DC – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement regarding New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s new television ad focusing on his record on energy and global warming:

“The League of Conservation Voters applauds Governor Bill Richardson for helping to elevate the twin issues of addressing global warming and solving America’s energy challenges.

As poll after poll demonstrates, Americans want our next president to curb global warming and put our country on the right track toward a clean energy future.  We are encouraged that several of the presidential candidates are elevating the issues of global warming and energy, and we look forward to seeing the national conversation on solutions continue to progress.”
