Responding to the release of President Obama's budget, League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:
“On Tuesday, President Obama called on Congress to pass a cap on global warming. Today, his budget echoes that call, anticipating tens of billions of dollars in income from that cap.
“This is a smart policy decision and another important sign that he “gets it” when it comes to building a new energy economy that will create millions of new jobs, reduce our dependence on oil, and protect our planet.
"We urge Congress to pass this budget as soon as possible and to answer the President’s call for a cap this year.”
