WASHINGTON, DC - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), which works to turn environmental values into national priorities, congratulates Chellie Pingree for her overwhelming victory in the six-way Democratic Primary to represent Maine’s First District in Congress. LCV endorsed Pingree on April 22, 2008.

“Chellie is a real environmental champion and a great candidate,” LCV President Gene Karpinski said.  “LCV is proud to have endorsed her campaign, will continue to support her in every way possible, and looks forward to having such a steadfast friend of the environment in Congress next year.”
