WASHINGTON, DC - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) today named CO-3 Republican nominee Greg Walcher (R) to its 2004 "Dirty Dozen" list of anti-environmental candidates, and launched www.WaterGrabWalcher.com as part of an aggressive campaign to educate Colorado residents about Mr. Walcher's poor conservation record.

www.WaterGrabWalcher.com is a multi-layered campaign that includes TV and radio ads, banner ads in Colorado online publications, and an aggressive field effort of direct mail, phone banking and door-to-door canvassing to educate Colorado residents about Walcher's support for Referendum A, a misguided 2004 proposal that would have diverted vital water resources from the Western Slope to Denver developers.

The TV ad, titled "Walcher Water" and the radio ad, titled "Water" both started running today for two weeks in the Colorado Springs-Pueblo , Grand Junction and Denver markets.

"As head of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Greg "Water Grab" Walcher helped lead the battle to pass the $2 billion Referendum A boondoggle," said LCV Senior Vice President for Political Affairs Mark Longabaugh.  "As the political voice of the national conservation community, we felt it was important to launch www.watergrabwalcher.com to educate Colorado residents about how Walcher put developers and special interests ahead of their interests."
