WASHINGTON ~³ervation Voters (LCV), the political voice of the national environmental and conservation community, today named Senator Harry Reid (D) as a 2004 Environmental Champion in his race for reelection to the U.S. Senate.

In February 2003, Senator Reid sponsored the Renewable Energy Incentives Act. This bill would encourage use of renewable energy by expanding tax incentives for electricity produced from renewable resources and waste products. ¶eloping renewable energy resources represents a responsible way to expand our power capacity without compromising air or water quality,�le="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 80%">Reid introduced the Yellowstone Protection Act in May 2003, in a bipartisan effort to protect our National Parks from snowmobile use. Despite recommendations made by the National Park Service and the Environmental Protection Agency, efforts have been made to continue use of these highly polluting vehicles. This bill would be critical in preventing air, water, and noise pollution in one of America³ most pristine areas.
In his three terms representing Nevada, Senator Reid has earned a strong lifetime score of 74% on the LCV Scorecard.
