The League of Conservation Voters today accelerated its independent campaign on behalf of KY-6 Congressional candidate Ben Chandler, stepping up voter contact and mailing efforts while placing ads in the Lexington television market that make clear Mr. Chandler is the far superior choice for voters.
The ads, starting today and running through Election Day, point out while the opponent of the former Kentucky Attorney General is beholden to corporate special interests, Mr. Chandler's record and values have made clear he will be a strong, independent advocate of protecting Kentucky's lands, parks and natural heritage.
"LCV endorsed Ben Chandler because of his leadership on conservation issues throughout his career by standing up to special interests," said LCV VP for Policy Betsy Loyless. "Ben's leadership in Congress will assure Kentuckians an independent voice in Washington."
Endorsed today by the Lexington Herald-Leader, which recognizes his fight to protect Breaks Interstate Park from energy drilling, Mr. Chandler received the endorsement of LCV on January 28th.
LCV has targeted thousands of voters with a grassroots door-to-door campaign in the Lexington area.
