U.S. Senate

 Sen. Harry Reid

    Sen. Dick Durbin

   Sen. Barbara Boxer

The 110th Congress has much more environmentally friendly leaders now that it is being lead by Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) (LCV Lifetime Score of 75%) and Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) (LCV Lifetime Score of 82%).

There is perhaps no greater example of the difference between the 109th Congress and the 110th than the change in leadership of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, which goes from being chaired by Senator Inhofe (LCV Lifetime Score of 5%) to being chaired by Senator Boxer (LCV Lifetime Score of 89%). After years of defending our core environmental protections and fighting dirty energy proposals, we look forward to working with the Senate to bring about a clean energy future and protect our air, land, and water.

A Supreme Court ruling has removed restrictions on how much companies like ExxonMobil can spend in elections, drowning out the voices of the majority of Americans who support clean energy.

The Senate Must Act Quickly
We saw a major step forward when the House passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES) last year. Now, it's up to the Senate to take action. Send an email to your Senators today urging them to act now!
