Senate Budget Committee

The Senate Budget Committee handles the annual budget resolution that governs how much money will be available for the 13 appropriations bills. The budget resolution establishes guidelines, which Congress must follow, for the total level of government revenue and spending.

Leadership

	Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) is the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. He has been a Senator since 1986. He previously served the public as the North Dakota Tax Commissioner. Sen. Conrad had LCV score of 56% in the 109th Congress.
	Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) is the Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee.  Before his election to the Senate in 1992, Senator Gregg served first as a U.S. Congressman and then as Governor of New Hampshire. Senator Gregg earned an LCV score of 33% in the 109th Congress.
