Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Ron DiNicola for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 16th District.

“Ron DiNicola is a proven fighter for Western Pennsylvania,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He knows that the health and economic well-being of communities in this district depends on a clean and thriving Lake Erie. He won’t be afraid to fight to protect our bedrock environmental safeguards and address climate change. Western Pennsylvanians can always count on Ron DiNicola and we are proud to endorse his campaign.”

“I am proud to earn the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund. I’ll provide a real voice and be the strong advocate that Western Pennsylvania families deserve,” said Ron DiNicola. “I believe that we must work together on lasting solutions to protect clean air and water for Western Pennsylvanians.”

Ron DiNicola was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. He joined the Marines after graduating high school, where he won the All-Marine Boxing Championship. After the Marines, he attended Harvard University on the GI bill and received a law degree from Georgetown University. He returned to Western Pennsylvania, where he clerked for a district judge, and later served as Erie County Solicitor. DiNicola has worked in his community to expand pre-K opportunities, on workforce empowerment issues, to establish a community college and to restart the Erie Police Athletic League. In Congress, he will focus on clean air and water protections for Western Pennsylvania.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental laws and policies, and defeat those who stand in the way of progress. Since the 1994 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 74 U.S. senators and 331 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
