Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Todd Litton for Congress in Texas’ 2nd District.

“Todd Litton is committed to strengthening storm preparedness for communities in Houston and making Texas a national clean energy leader,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Texans in the 2nd district deserve a representative who will invest in climate-resilient infrastructure and prioritize commonsense solutions to address the climate crisis that is making storms like Hurricane Harvey more and more dangerous. Todd Litton is that leader and we are proud to endorse him for Congress.”

“Since Harvey hit, the people of TX- 2 have demonstrated a resiliency and spirit of cooperation in rebuilding,” said Todd Litton. “I’ll bring that same resiliency and bipartisanship to Congress in order to protect our people and property from climate change. I won’t allow Washington, D.C.’s partisan political games to leave us under water.”

Todd Litton is a sixth generation Texan from Houston. He graduated from Duke University, earned a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law, and a MBA from Rice University. Litton practiced law, worked in investments, and has been a leader in the education and nonprofit fields in Houston. Since 2009, he has served as the Executive Director of Citizen Schools Texas. In Congress, he will focus on building infrastructure that is climate-resilient and green, creating a Gulf Coast protection plan, and providing more transportation options that will decrease the number of cars on the road.
